GENERATION 1

Jacques VESINAT ou VOISINAT, born about 1611 in Puyravault, Rochefort, LaRochelle, Aunis, France; died 28 June 1687 in L'Ange Gardien, Montmorency I, Québec, Canada; buried 29 June 1687 in L'Ange Gardien, Montmorency I, Québec, Canada. He was a master 'tonnelier' (barrel maker). He married Marie BOISDON on 10 June 1641 in Puyravault, Rochefort, LaRochelle, Aunis, France.

Marie BOISDON, born 28 December 1615 in St. Rogatien, Charente Maritime, France; died 28 December 1687 in L'Ange Gardien, Québec, Canada; buried 31 December 1687 in L'Ange-Gardien Québec, Canada. Her parents were Jean BOISDON, born 1570, died about 1611/1616 both St. Rogatien, Charente, Maritime, France married about 1611, France and Marie BARDIN born about 1592, St. Rogatien, Charente, Maritime, France; died in France.

Jacques and Marie emmigrated to New France (Canada) in 1659. Their whole family came with them except Jeanne who stayed in France and Jacques and Pierre who died prior to the journey. Jacques and Marie had eight children: François, Marie, Anne, Marie Louise, Jacques, Pierre, François, Jeanne. These children dropped the "t" at the end of the Vesinat. My ancestor, François, is the seventh child.

GENERATION 2

François VESINA, born 28 August 1657 and baptized 02 September 1657 in St Nicolas, LaRochelle, Aunis, France; died 20 January 1703 and buried 20 January 1703 in L'Ange-Gardien, Montmorency I, Québec, Canada; married Marie CLEMENT dit LAPOINTEon 10 April 1679 in L'Ange-Gardien Québec, Canada.

Marie CLEMENT dit LAPOINTE born circa 1658 (I have various dates: 1658, 1659, 29 March 1662.) in St Nicolas, LaRochelle, Aunis, France (I have various locations: St Nicolas, LaRochelle, Aunis, France; Chateau Richer, Montmorency, Québec, Canada; L'Ange-Gardien, Montmorency, Québec, Canada). She died 11 November 1723 in L'Ange-Gardien, Québec, Canada.

François and Marie had twelve children: François, Marie Madeleine, Charles, Jean, Pierre, Joseph, Angélique, Geneviève, Marie Therese, Marguerite, Jean-Baptiste and Jacques. The fourth child, Jean, died at a very young age. My ancestor, Charles, was the third child.

GENERATION 3

Charles VEZINA, born 25 January 1685 and baptized 26 January 1685 in L'Ange-Gardien Québec, Canada; died 08 August 1755 and buried 09 August 1755 in Aux Ecureuils, Québec, Québec, Canada. He married Louise (GODIN) GAUDINon 27 July 1705 in L'Ange-Gardien, Montmorency, Québec, Canada.

Louise (GODIN) GAUDIN, born 03 February 1682 in L'Ange-Gardien, Montmorency I, Québec, Canada; buried 19 September 1752. Her parents were Charles Gaudin or Godin, born 1631, St Laurent, Beaumes, Dauphine, France; died 1 Dec 1706, L'Ange-Gardien Montmorency, Québec, Canada and married 06 Nov 1656, Beaupre, Montmorency, Québec, Canada and Marie Boucher, born11 Apr 1644, Beaupré, Québec, Canada; died 18 Jan 1712, L'Ange-Gardien, Montmorency, Québec, Canada.

Charles and Louise had nine children: Charles François, Nicolas, Louise, Louis, François, Louis, John Baptiste, Alexandre and Marie. My ancestor, Louis, was the fourth child (please see the note at Louis VEZINA.).

GENERATION 4

Louis VEZINA, born 25 November 1708 in L'Ange-Gardien Québec, Canada. He married Mary Anne FAUCHER 18 January 1740 in Pointe Aux Trembles, Québec, Canada. Louis was a twin. (It may be that the two brothers Louis are one and the same person - if so, he would not be a twin and have the birth date 30 June 1714.)

Marie Anne FAUCHER was born in 1718 in Pointe Aux Trembles, Québec, Canada. Her father was Nicolas FAUCHER.

Louis and Marie had eleven children: Louis Joseph, Charles, Jean Baptiste, Marie Anne, Unknown, Marie Louise, François, Marie Angelique and Jean Baptiste, Augustin, Marie Thérèse. Five of these children died at a young age: the first Jean-Baptiste, Marie Anne, Unknown, Marie Louise and François. My ancestor, Charles, was the second child.

GENERATION 5

Charles VEZINA, born about 1744. He married Marguerite JOUBERT 14 April 1766. He married Elisabeth Céleste BERARD13 February 1777 in I'lle-Dupas, Québec, Canada.

(Charles and Elisabeth had a son, François, born about 1783, died 25 January 1835 in St Cuthbert, Québec, Canada. He married Augustin REMILLARD 16 January 1804 in St Cuthbert, Québec, Canada.)

Marguerite JOUBERT was born about 1744.

She and Charles had five children: Pierre, Charles, Marguerite, Marie and Marie Anne. My ancestor, Pierre, is the first child.

GENERATION 6

Pierre VEZINA was born about 1787. He married Anne GIROUX 13 July 1807 in Lacadie, Québec, Canada.

Anne GIROUX was born about1787.

Pierre and Anne had a son, François Xavier, who is my ancestor.

GENERATION 7

François Xavier VEZINAborn about 1815 in Lacadie, Québec, Canada. He married Adelaide BOULAY 18 July 1835 in Lacadie, Québec, Canada.

François and Adelaide had a son, Joseph M. VEZINA who is my ancestor.

GENERATION 8

Joseph M. VEZINA born 02 February 1853 in St Joseph d'Ely, Québec, Canada. He died 09 August 1922 in Penacook, New Hampshire, USA. He is buried in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Penacook, New Hampshire, USA. He emigrated in 1894/5 and never became naturalized. He sold fire wood and heating oil and owned a grocery store in Penacook, New Hampshire, USA He married Osias VEL dit SANSOUCY 23 April 1877 in Ste. Anne de Stukeley, Québec, Canada.

Osias VEL dit SANSOUCY born 26 March 1856 in Ste-Anne De La Rochelle, Arthabaska, Québec, Canada and baptized at Notre-Dame de Bonsecours under the name of Marie Sophie. Her godparents were Cléophas Meunier and Sophie Massé. Her parents were Jean Baptiste VEL dit SANSOUCY and Reine MEUNIER dit LAPIERRE. She died 07 December 1940 in Penacook, New Hampshire, USA. She is buried with her husband at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Penacook, New Hampshire, USA. She never became naturalized after she emigrated to the USA with her husband.

Joseph and Osias had 15 children: Napoléon, Olivine, Edmund, Ernest J., Emile, Rose, Eugene Albertic, Mary Louise, Eugenie, Georges, Albina, Blanche, Albert Joseph, Doris Yvonne, Yvonne. Six of the children died at a young age: Emile, Eugenie, Georges, Albina, Doris Yvonne, Yvonne. (The last two children may be the same person.) My ancestor, Eugene Albertic, is the seventh child.

GENERATION 9

Eugene Albertic VEZINA was born 02 April 1886 in St Joseph d'Ely, Québec, Canada. He died 25 November 1967 and is buried beside his wife at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Penacook, New Hampshire, USA. He emigrated with his parents in 1894/5 and was never naturalized. He was a farmer, wood cutter, grocer and butcher. He married Laudina Louise LEBLANC 17 October 1910 in Penacook, New Hampshire, USA. He lived with his daughter Florence and her husband Ernest Cantara after the death of his wife.

Laudina Louise LEBLANC was born 17 July 1888 in Suncook, New Hampshire, USA. She died 17 November 1965 at home 82 Merrimack Street, Penacook, New Hampshire, USA and was buried 30 November 1965 in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Penacook, New Hampshire, USA.

Eugene and Laudina had nine children: Theresa Germaine, Leon Joseph, Aurora, Alphege, Helen Rose, Bertha, Florence Adrienne, Anita Rita and Michael Thomas. My mother was Theresa Germaine.

GENERATION 10

Theresa Germaine Vezinawas born 14 January, 1912 in Concord, New Hampshire, USA. She died 11 December 2000 in Augusta, Georgia, USA and was cremated 13 December 13, 2000. She was buried 04 January 2001 beside her husband at Blossom Hill Cemetery, Concord, New Hampshire, USA. She married Carlton Alexander Everett ANGWIN 23 April 1938 at 97 Hall Street, Concord, New Hampshire, USA. She was a seamstress making drapes and slipcovers.

Carlton Alexander Everett Angwin was born 18 October 1903 in Concord, New Hampshire, USA. He was baptized 31 January 1904 by John Knox Tibbits, Priest in Charge, at St Timothy's (Mission) Church, Concord, New Hampshire, USA. His god parents were George William Everett Angwin (his father), George Thomas Jepson and Sybil (Angwin) Jepson. He died 18 July 1964 in Concord, New Hampshire, USA and was buried 21 July 1964 at Blossom Hill Cemetery, Concord, New Hampshire, USA. He was a printer, proof reader and linotype operator at the Rumford Press in Concord, New Hampshire, USA, and at the Manchester Union Leader, Manchester, New Hampshire, USA. He started out with the New York Times, New York, New York, USA. He married Caroline M. Quimby 20 September 1926 in Concord, New Hampshire, USA. (Carlton and Caroline had one child, Joyce Aileen.) He divorced in 1934, Concord, New Hampshire, USA. He married Theresa Germaine Vezina 23 April 1938 in Concord, New Hampshire, USA.
