deux bans de mariage tant en cette paroisse qu'en celle de Lachine
sans empechement ni opposition, la dispense d'un ban ayant été
obtenue de Mesieur Alexis Frédéric Truteau, Grand Vicaire de Mon-
seigneur l'Evêque de Montréal, je prêtre soussigné, autorisé a cet ef-
fet, ayant pris le mutuel consentement par parole de présent de
Joseph Martineau, charpentier, veuf de Judith Picard, de la paroisse
de Lachine, d'une part, et de Marguerite Chartrand, veuve de Louis
Lacroix, charretier, de cette paroisse, d'autre part; les ai mariés sui-
vant les lois et coutumes observées en la Sainte Eglise en présence de
George Groves, de Pierre Martineau, père de l'époux, soussignés, et de Joseph Char-
trand, père de l'epouse, lequel ainsi que les époux a declaré ne savoir signer.

without impediment nor opposition, the dispensation of one ban having been
obtained by Reverend Alexix Frédéric Truteau Grand Vicar of
His Excellency the Bishop of Montréal, I the undersigned priest having been authorized
in this matter, having taken the mutual consent by word and presence of
Joseph Martineau, charpenter, widower of Judith Picard, of the parish
of Lachine, on the one part, and of Marguerite Chartrand, widow of Louis
Lacroix, carter, of this parish, on the other part; married them according
to the laws and customs observed by the Holy Church in the presence of
George Groves, of Pierre Martineau, father of the groom who signed below and of Joseph
Chartrand father of the bride who as well as the spouses declared not knowing how to sign.
