The PRDH Certificate #85345 above and the following reference to Nicolas Bélanger, who was born around 1633, do not list his parents.

In Claude Drouin, Dictionnaire national des Canadiens-français, page 82, there are no parents listed for Nicolas Bélanger (Bellanger) married to Marie DeRainville on 11 Jan 1660.

According to Cyprien Tanguay, Tome I, page 38, François Bélanger and Marie Guyon, had a first son born in 1638, named Nicolas who married Marie DeRainville 11 Jan 1660 in Québec and died 20 Oct 1682 in Beauport. This is inaccurate. Both François & Nicolas came from the same parish in Tougues; they were most likely cousins. (NAL)
